Ruth Margraff (Playwright/performer) has toured extensively with her plays and her Café Antarsia Ensemble throughout the USA, UK, Canada, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Croatia, France, Sweden, Japan, Egypt, India, Azerbaijan, etc. She has been awarded four Rockefeller Foundation commissions, two McKnight awards, a Jerome Fellowship, an NEA/TCG national playwriting residency, two NYSCA awards, a Fulbright new opera award (Greece) among others. Ruth's work is published by Dramatists Play Service, American Theatre, Theater Forum, Performing Arts Journal, Playscripts, Inc., Kendall/Hunt, Backstage Books, The Drama Review, Conjunctions, Autonomedia, New Village Press, Innova Records She is an alumnae of New Dramatists, member of League of Professional Theater Women, Theatre Without Borders and a resident playwright of Chicago Dramatists. Ruth is represented by Susan Schulman, has taught playwriting at the Yale School of Drama, Brown University, University of Texas/Michener Center and is Associate Professor in the Writing Department at the Art Institute of Chicago.

While in residence at Centraltrak, Ruth will be finishing the editing of her book RED FROGS AND OTHER PLAYS available now for pre-order from NoPassport Press RED FROGS AND OTHER PLAYS; writing a new play with the working title ANGER/FLY inspired by an Ionesco film for Trap Door Theater (Chicago), and working with with composer/musician Nikos Brisco and director Raphael Parry of Shakespeare Dallas/Green Zone on a workshop of her Greek/Ottoman opera THREE GRACES Jan 15.
